Our Vestry

The Episcopal Church has a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God, and can be expressed by all people in our church, regardless of sexual identity or orientation.

Most churches have a priest who acts as a pastor to his/her parish, we call them “rectors”.  The rector has the responsibility of the care of souls and worship.  The day-to-day managing of the church is done by lay men and women who work tirelessly for their church.  The “governing” body of the local church is called the “Vestry” which is led by Wardens whose responsibility is the ongoing “running” of the parish, including its worship in the absence of a rector.
